Holiday & Winter Grilling Ideas

The holidays are a time of celebration, and what better way to celebrate than with food. We have compiled some delicious recipes to help you create an unforgettable holiday feast for your family. Of course, no great gathering is complete without grilled food. Try one of these tasty grilling ideas to bring even more flavor into your celebrations this year.

Sticky Grilled Chicken

Sticky grilled chicken refers to the chicken you need to baste with a glaze or marinade every 15 minutes.

Sticky grilled chicken is super easy and delicious. You will need :

  • One bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce
  • One cup of brown sugar, honey, or molasses
  • (OPTIONAL) One teaspoon of cayenne pepper

Directions: Mix the ingredients in a bowl and put it in a large resealable bag. Add chicken breasts to the bag, ensuring each piece is well coated. Marinate for at least two hours (overnight if possible)—Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill chicken for about 20 minutes, flipping once until fully cooked. Serve with additional sauce on the side.

Grilled Cabbage “Steaks”

Grilled cabbage “steaks” refers to cutting the cabbage into thick slices. The recipe is simple and easy to make, adding a fantastic flavor to each bite.

The following are the ingredients you need for this dish:

  •  ½ teaspoon olive oil (to brush)
  • Two tablespoons of honey (organic preferred)
  • Pinch of salt and pepper to taste. You can also add any other seasoning you like, such as dry basil or cumin powder.

Directions: Preheat your barbecue grill on high heat for ten minutes while the slices are soaking up in a bowl filled with cold water and lemon juice so they do not turn brown while grilling. Drain the cabbage after five minutes, then pat them dry using paper towels before brushing each side with some olive oil and adding salt and pepper according to your preference.

Next, grill the cabbage steaks for two to three minutes per side, turning them once. If you like your cabbage more tender and soft, then reduce the grilling time to one minute per side while brushing some honey on top of each slice using a brush or spoon.

Add some additional flavor by adding cheese (optional). If preferred, serve this dish with BBQ sauce on the side for dipping purposes, although it tastes delicious even without any dip. You can also use other forms of cooking such as baking or stir-frying to make different dishes out of your grilled cabbage “steaks.” Just remember not to overcook it so that you get maximum taste from every bite.

Grilled Potatoes

Grilled potatoes are a delicious and easy side dish to make for your next holiday barbecue. Slice potatoes into thin rounds, toss with olive oil and sea salt, then grill over medium-high heat until tender and slightly charred.
